Cubiq for Android

Last updated: October 6, 2026.

This policy explains what data Cubiq processes, why it is needed, and how to request deletion. It applies to the Android versions of Cubiq.

1. Data stored on your device

Cubiq stores learning progress, solve results, practice history, settings, and images you choose for the app's appearance on your device. This data lets you continue lessons, view your statistics, and keep your preferences.

You do not need an account to use Cubiq. The app does not sync your personal practice history to a server operated by the developer. It does send technical data and usage events to the services described below.

Android may include app data in a system backup or transfer it to another device. This depends on your device settings and backup services.

2. Analytics and crash reports

Cubiq uses Yandex AppMetrica to understand app usage and diagnose errors. The service processes installation or device identifiers, device information, Android and app versions, language, app sessions, interface actions, crash reports, and information about app freezes. Network connections also expose your IP address to the service, which may use it to estimate your region.

We use this information to understand which features people use, find the causes of errors, and improve the app. Analytics events may describe lesson progress and timer usage through categories and summary values. We do not send note text, search query text, your selected photos, or your full results history as analytics event parameters.

Cubiq disables AppMetrica location collection and advertising identifier tracking in its configuration. This does not prevent processing of IP addresses or technical identifiers used by these services.

For details, see the AppMetrica data processing documentation and Yandex Privacy Policy.

3. Notifications

Cubiq uses AppMetrica Push and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications. These services process an installation identifier, a delivery token, and technical information needed to deliver notifications and record when they are opened.

Notifications may include practice reminders, app news, and product suggestions related to cubing. You can manage notification display in Cubiq and Android settings. Turning off notification display does not itself delete existing identifiers or stop all technical processing by the delivery services.

For details, see Privacy and Security in Firebase and the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Permissions and selected files

Cubiq uses microphone access when you choose to connect a StackMat timer through its audio signal. The signal is processed on your device. Cubiq does not save it as an audio recording or send the audio to analytics services.

Bluetooth access lets Cubiq find and connect to compatible external timers. On Android 11 and earlier, Android may require location permission to scan for Bluetooth devices. Cubiq uses this permission to find a timer, not to track your movements.

You select background images and import files through Android's system interface. Cubiq reads the files you select and stores the required data locally. When you export data, you choose where to save the file or which app receives it. An export may contain your results and settings, so consider who can access it.

You can revoke permissions in Android settings. The related feature may then stop working.

5. Contacting support

When you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you send. If you open a support email from Cubiq, the app adds its version, Android version, and the context of your request. You can edit or remove this information before sending the email.

We use this correspondence to answer your question and investigate the issue. Do not send passwords, payment details, or other information that is not needed to resolve your request.

6. Third-party services and links

Yandex and Google process data needed for analytics, diagnostics, and push notifications. They may process this data outside your country under their own data processing terms.

When Cubiq loads external content, the source server receives technical request information, including your IP address. If you follow a link to a product store, an app store, or another website, that service's privacy rules apply. Google Play or RuStore handles app purchases and payment information. Cubiq does not receive your bank card number.

We do not sell user data.

7. Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it. In Cubiq, you can reset course progress and delete individual results or images. To remove all local app data, clear Cubiq's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app. Delete exported files and system backups separately if you no longer need them. Restoring a backup may restore previously saved data.

Clearing local app data does not automatically delete information previously received by AppMetrica, Firebase, or support. Technical data retention depends on these services' settings and policies. Firebase retains installation IDs until a deletion request is made through its API. After that request, removal from live and backup systems may take up to 180 days.

We retain support correspondence to resolve your request and related issues. You can request its deletion. If we need to retain some information to meet a legal requirement or protect legitimate interests, we will explain the reason and what information is retained.

To ask about data processing or request deletion, email koynapps.support@gmail.com with the subject "Cubiq: data and privacy". Specify the data you want deleted. Do not send passwords or identity documents unless we separately ask for information needed to handle the request. Since Cubiq works without an account, an email address alone may not identify the technical data belonging to a particular installation. If necessary, we will explain what additional information is needed to process your request.

8. Data security

Local data is stored in the app's storage, where Android restricts access. Analytics and notification providers use protected protocols to transmit data. Access to support correspondence and service data is needed for support, usage analysis, and fixing errors. The security of exported files also depends on where you store them and who receives them.

9. Changes and contact

If our data processing practices change, we will update this page and the date at the top of the policy.
